Safe Work Procedures
- Dispose of any item that could be potentially infectious, or contains blood, as clinical waste
- Always separate waste into the appropriate waste stream
- Dispose of items with vomit, saliva, urine or faeces in the regular waste, unless visible blood or a potential infectious risk is present
- Wear gloves when handling clinical waste bins and wash your hands afterwards
- Dispose of all bodies correctly (ideally via incineration), including neonates, wildlife and strays
