What are the potential hazards to our health?

Clinical waste can potentially lead to human illness if it is not disposed of correctly.  Additionally, it can lead to environmental contamination or even pose a health risk to wild animals if it enters the general waste stream. Incorrectly disposing of clinical waste is against the law and can also cause public offence and reputational damage for a business.
